Remembering a Dear Friend
In Memory of Patricia McNeely

When St. Peter opened up the Heavenly Gates, there stood Patricia, just patiently waiting.
St. Peter said, "Welcome, you just come right in. You've been chosen because of your rating.
For down there on earth, you rated real high. Good wife, mother, grand-mother and friend.
And so we reserved here, a place just for you, as you come to your last journey's end.

"But why have you called me so soon", Pat then asked. "My work back on earth wasn't through.
The garden needs weeding, there's flowers to plant, there are so many things left do do.
I know that you've given me many good years, but where in the world did they go?
It seems I was young and just "heading" for old, and there's so many seeds left to sow."

"Well, Patricia," St. Peter replied with a smile, I suppose it is time to say why.
We needed a gardener, but only the BEST, for our gardens up here in the sky!
You see, even in Heaven, we each have a task, and for this slot we needed the best.
So, come in, Pat McNeely, your trowel awaits, take your place here in Heaven with the best.
And although you'll be missed by your family and friends, it is time for your final goodbye.
You will see them again when YOU open the gate, and THEY stand there, still wondering ....why....."
