My grandfather, Donald C. Norris, lost his life on the LST 577 when it went down.

My father, Harry R. Norris, who also went onto join the Army, never really knew his Dad. My dad was born in 1941 and grandpa died in 1945, I wish for my Dad's sake that he could have gotten to know him.
